Salvatore International School students bag medals at J&K Karate Premier League
Bandipora, Apr 29: Demonstrating skill and determination, three students from Salvatore International School, Fariq Farooq, Waqas Hafiz, and Syed Sehrish, secured gold and silver medals in the sub-junior category at the Jammu and Kashmir Karate Premier League 2025, held at the Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex on April 28 and 29.
As per a press release issued on Tuesday, the event was organised by the Amateur Karate Association of Jammu and Kashmir (AKAJK), affiliated with the Karate India Organisation (KIO), which in turn is recognised by the World Karate Federation and other international karate federations.
Salavtore International School, Bandipora, has a history of training students to compete at national and international levels in sports and has achieved various feats in kickboxing, rugby and wushu championships in the past.
Speaking on the occasion, Haya Qazi, chairperson of the school, said that the school believes in holistic growth and development of 21st-century skills. She said that education should never be restricted to academics, and every student must get a platform to excel in what they are inclined towards. She mentioned that the students of Salvatore are taught to be resilient, competent and disciplined through emphasis on sports.
