Salman Sagar welcomes govt decision to form committee to examine issue of daily wagers

Srinagar, Mar 11: National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar today strongly raised the issues of regularization of daily wagers, casual labourers, HDF employees, CIC operators, NYC workers and other temporary employees along with a one-time electricity amnesty in the Assembly.

He welcomed the government’s decision to form a committee to examine these crucial issues but urged for swift and decisive action to ensure justice for the affected workers and relief for consumers burdened by electricity dues.

He emphasized that thousands of workers have been serving in various departments for years without job security or timely wages. He said despite their dedicated service, their future remains uncertain. He urged the government to expedite their regularization to ensure stability and dignity for these workers.

Additionally, he pressed for a one-time electricity amnesty to provide relief to consumers struggling with pending dues by waiving penalties and interest.

“The formation of a committee is a step forward, but the government must act without further delay. These workers and consumers need immediate relief,” MLA Hazratbal said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the fight for these pressing issues until a fair resolution is achieved.
