Salman Sagar inspects health facilities
Srinagar, Jan 2: Senior J&K National Conference leader and MLA Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, conducted an extensive tour of various health facilities across the Khanyar and Hazratbal constituencies today.
Accompanied by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Srinagar and Block Medical Officers (BMOs) from Zadibal and Khanyar, the visit focused on assessing and addressing the infrastructural and staffing needs of these centres.
Sagar’s day began with a visit to the Buchwara (Dalgate) National Tuberculosis Programme Health Centre (NTPHC) and continued to the Gargribal (Dalgate) Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC).
His itinerary included stops at the Arabal (Shalimar) Urban Health Center, Burzuhama’s Ayushmaan Primary Health Center, and the Ayush Health & Wellness centres at Mulfaaq, Chatterhama, and Khimber. The tour concluded at Zakura’s UPHC in the Hazratbal area.
Throughout his visits, Sagar engaged in detailed discussions regarding the immediate and long-term requirements of each health facility. The primary concerns highlighted were the dire need for infrastructural enhancements, the acute shortage of medical and paramedical staff, and the urgent upgradation of Primary Health Centers (PHCs).
The MLA was joined by coordinators from both constituencies, Irfan Zehgeer and Abid Wani, along with Block Presidents Bashir Ahmad Mir and Bashir Ahmed Ganie, Maqbool Mir, and a group of youth leaders including Hilal Dar, Naseer Magray, and Faisal Ahmed, among others. Their presence underscored the community’s support and involvement in pushing for better healthcare services in these regions.
Sagar emphasised the importance of ensuring that the health centres are well-equipped and adequately staffed to serve the local populace effectively.
“The health of our community is paramount, and it’s our responsibility to advocate for and ensure that our health facilities are up to par,” Sagar remarked during the tour.
He committed to working closely with local health authorities and the government to address the issues raised during his visits.
