Large number of devotees from different parts of the area participated in the prayers and sought an end from the ongoing dry spell.

Praying for an end to the prevailing dry spell, the cries of the devotees filled the air for quite some time.

Shedding light on the Salat-ul-Istisqa, Veeri said that these prayers are organised whenever there are impending signs of drought so that the Almighty may shower his blessings on the people and other creations.

“On such occasions we must organise prayers and seek blessings from the Almighty. This prayer is for the rains and we are taught to organise such prayers”, Veeri said.

He said that they hope that Allah will answer “our prayers and bless us with abundant showers.”

Verri said that “we should rise above the school of thought and work together for the betterment of society.”
