Srinagar, February 14: Peoples Conference chairman and former minister Sajad Lone on Friday urged the government to intervene and save the career of 22 students of a private school in Srinagar whose exam forms have been rejected due to non-registration of their school.

In a post on X, Lone said: "22 students submitted their 10th-class exam forms through Islamic Global School, Padshahi Bagh Srinagar two months ago. JKBOSE rejected their forms due to the school’s non-registration. With exams starting from Monday the students cannot obtain their roll number slips and hence can’t sit for exams putting their careers in peril."

He said it was the job of the government to ensure that unregistered schools don’t operate. “It is not the job of the parents. How do parents know whether the school is registered or not?” he asked.

"The onus of rescuing the children falls on the government. Please don’t wash your hands off like you do in everything. And neither is it a UT/a state issue. It is well within the powers of the government. The Chairman of JKBOSE can easily intervene and facilitate a partnership with a registered school. Anything to rescue the children."
