Srinagar, Nov 4: People’s Conference (PC) Chairman and MLA Handwara Sajad Gani Lone Monday said that he would always support the resolution of Article 370 and that it was not a closed chapter for the people.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the Assembly session, Lone said that he was not aware that the issue of Article 370 would be raised in the house.

“But when it was brought up, we supported it and supported it fully. Wherever there is a resolution on Article 370, we will support it in future as well,” he told reporters.

Lone said that Article 370 was not a closed chapter and that this issue would come up again in the next session.

Reacting to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s reaction that the resolution was brought for show only, Lone said Abdullah should answer whatever he has said during the election.

“In the Lieutenant Governor’s address, there is no mention of Article 370 at all. They should know that the soul of this session will be Article 370,” he said.

Lone said that the entire community should know that only four to five MLAs stood up in support of this resolution, while NC and BJP jointly opposed it.

“So it was five versus 85. Now, it is up to NC to tell people whether they stand with or against them,” He said.

Lone took a jibe at NC saying that they accused the People’s Conference and other parties of being Team A and Team B of BJP but had now become the BJP’s “Shawl Team”.
