Sajad Lone raises issue of Shabir Shah's health, other prisoners in J-K assembly

Srinagar, Oct 29: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference chief Sajad Gani Lone on Wednesday said that Shabir Ahmad Shah was not a militant but a political leader.

Speaking during the Zero Hour session of the House, Sajad Lone flanked the issue earlier raised by MLA M Y Tarigami and said that the health of Shabir Shah has deteriorated and he was not able to manage day to day affairs.

"Shabir Shah was not a militant. He was a political leaders. Imagine if anyone among us will not be able to stand up without support, how will our family respond," Sajad Lone said.

He acknowledged that the Home Department was not under the domain of the JK government and urged that the House must take cognizance of the deteriorating health of prisoners lodged in outside jails.

"I hope this Assembly will take note of it," Sajad Lone said.
