Sajad Lone dismayed over lack of basic facilities in Machil

Kupwara, May 14: Peoples Conference President Sajad Gani Lone today said that he was dejected while seeing lack of basic facilities at Machil sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Sajad Lone while talking to reporters on the sidelines of an election rally at Machil said that these people were suffering due to lack of basic facilities here. “This is the second time I have visited Machil, people here face lot of problems when road gets closed during winters due to heavy snowfall. Lack of proper medical facilities has really been a concern for the people here and the pregnant women of the area face most of the brunt,” he said.

“I believe if border tourism is promoted in Machil, the basic facilities will automatically be developed here. If I come to power, I will certainly take up this issue in the Parlaiment,” the PC President said.

Earlier, while addressing the election rally Lone said that since Machil remains cutoff during winters, he will take up the issue with central government so that a tunnel is constructed for the people which will boost tourism sector also.
