Sahitya Akademi organise Grama Lok prog in Kashmiri
Banihal, Nov 2: Sahitya Akademi New Delhi organised a one-day Grama Lok programme in Kashmiri in collaboration with the Government Higher Secondary School Tethar Banihal in Ramban on Thursday.
Principal Higher Secondary School Tethar A R Giri was the chief guest and Mohammad Abbas Giri, incharge principal was the guest of honour.
Prof Shad Ramzan Convenor Sahitya Akademi New Delhi chaired the function.
He was presented with a bouquet by the school administration and a citation by Sanglab Adbi Markaz Nowgam Banihal.
Manshoor Banihali, a member General Council Sahitya Akademi presented the welcome address.
The poets who presented their verses include Ghulam Mohammad Khan Dilfigar, Ghulam Hassan Hassan, Shabir Hussain Shabir, Bahar Ahmed Bahar, and Peer Gowher Banihali.
The programme was attended by a large number of audience, lovers of literature and the students. Shabir Hussain Shabir carried out the proceedings of the function.
The programme was very much liked and appreciated by the audience.
Principal Higher Secondary School, Tethar A R Giri lauded the efforts of Sahitya Akademi in promoting the mother tongue and inculcating a sense of love, peace and harmony among the budding generation. Convener Sahitya Akademi, Prof Shad Ramzan presented the presidential address and assured to keep the efforts in promoting literary and cultural activities.
He also thanked the school authorities for their cooperation and for making the programme a success.
