Safety of Kashmiri students outside UT paramount: Altaf Bukhari
Srinagar, Nov 19: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday said that the recent incidents involving Kashmiri students being intimidated outside the Valley are “deeply unfortunate and highly distressing.”
While condemning the incident, he emphasised that innocent students must not face harassment during the ongoing investigation. “Children studying in that college are being called. At the very least, their parents should be informed about their whereabouts and the status of the investigation,” he said, as per KNS.
Bukhari noted that many concerned parents had approached him, unsure which agency had taken their children into custody. “If an investigation is underway, parents have the right to be informed.
Authorities should communicate clearly to prevent unnecessary anxiety,” he added, urging the Home Minister and local police to ensure transparency.
