Rusted hand grenade found, destroyed in Thanamandi

Rajouri, Sep 29: Police on Sunday afternoon destroyed a hand grenade through a controlled mechanism after it was found lying on river bank in Sora Pull area of Thanamandi in Rajouri district.

The handd grenade was seen lying there by some locals who informed police and a team from Thanamandi police station rushed to the spot and took this hand grenade into possession.

The grenade, officials said, was later destroyed through a controlled mechanism by Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of Jammu and Kashmir police.

The hand grenade is believed to have flown with water flow from upper reaches of Thanamandi.
