Rusted grenades, mortar shell recovered in Rajouri

Rajouri, Dec 21: Security forces on Thursday evening destroyed two rusted grenades and a mortar shell that were found alongside Jammu- Rajouri- Poonch National Highway during earth excavation work.

Officials said the grenades and motar shell was recovered at Chingus village of Rajouri when workers were digging soil for excavation of river bank material.

"Police teams from Chingus police post rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area," they said.

The officials added that Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) of army later destroyed both the grenades and mortar shell.
