On Wednesday, the NGO inaugurated the school building and handed over it to the students and the teachers. Over the past few months, the school has undergone extensive renovations to enhance its facilities.

The initiative was launched jointly by the NAAM foundation and the Army to provide better educational facilities to the students in the far-flung areas.

"The renovation of the Gaggar Hill primary school is a significant step towards improving the educational infrastructure in this remote village along LoC," said Ganesh Thorat, CEO NAAM foundation. He was addressing the local residents, teachers and the students of the schools during the handover ceremony.

"Our goal is to ensure that every child here has access to quality education and the necessary resources available to continue studies," he said.

Besides carrying out renovation of the school building, the NAAM foundation also distributed school bags, uniforms, and shoes to students of the Government Middle School Chotali and Government School Kurali, both situated along the LoC in Uri.

Ganesh Thorat said that such small initiatives are aimed at raising the academic standards of the schools setup in the far off areas. "Our aim is to reduce the financial burdens on families and ensure that students have the basic facilities to continue their education," he said.

Besides this, the NAAM foundation also distributed sewing machines, embroidery machines, and other tailoring materials to sewing centres in Salasan and Boniyar.

"We want to equip local women with the skills and resources needed to make them self reliant and ensure their economic independence," he said.

The NGO also provided essential items to the students enrolled at Chinar Nou Jawan Club Bomiyar to enhance the vocational training at the centre. The Chinar Club provides training to students in hospitality, bakery, IT, and tailoring.

Commander Pir Panjal Brigade Brigadier PMS Dhillon in his address at the occasion said that the collaboration between Army and the NAAM foundation has proven fruitful in community development and nation-building.

"By supporting education, skill development, and women empowerment, we aim to bring about positive change in these communities living in the far off villages," he said.

The event was organised by the Torna Battalion under the aegis of the Pir Panjal Brigade, Dagger Division.
