The protests broke out after the Chief Minister brushed off reporter’s question about Ruhullah, stating that he was nothing in comparison to Mian Altaf. The remarks angered his supporters. Soon after Maghrib prayers, protesters assembled in Nowgam, raising slogans hailing Ruhullah’s character while criticising the CM’s remarks as "disrespectful," saying he should “come to his senses.”
