Ruhullah should sit with Omar Abdullah to sort out things: MLA Baramulla
Baramulla, Apr 16: The National Conference leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Baramulla constituency Javid Hassan Baig on Wednesday said that Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi should sit with Omar Abdullah (leader of J&K) to sort out things.
He was talking in reference to the recent media statement of Member Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi who said that he had no communication with the Party since he staged a protest on reservation.
“Ruhulla Sahab should meet Omar Abdullah. There is no need to share issues in the media. They both are towering leaders. They can sit together and talk about it (the issue and differences). What is the big issue in this,” MLA Baramulla said.
When asked that some leaders were reportedly planning to exit from the National Conference, Javid Hassan Baig said no leader will be seen leaving the party “come what may.”
“The MLA is not that stupid. One has to work really hard to become an MLA. No MLA will ignore the feelings of his people, their feelings, their hard work, and if he betrays, where will he go? After all, he has to be answerable before the people. You will not see a single person leaving the National Conference,” MLA Baramulla said.
He said that National Conference MLAs will prefer death over defection.
MLA Baramulla was speaking to the reporters on the sidelines of a two-day job fair organised by the Dagger Division of Indian Army in collaboration with district administration Baramulla.
“The job fair organised by the Dagger Division and civil administration is a timely and a necessary initiative. It not only provides opportunities to people, but also helps in counseling of the youth,” MLA Baramulla said.
He said that until our youth becomes a part of such initiatives, they will not prepare themselves for progress.
“If our youth do not get prepared for such initiatives, they as individuals and a community, will not be able to cope up with the problem of unemployment, and the other problems and difficulties that arise because of the unemployment,” he said.
He said our defence institutions, civil institutions, political institutions, and civil society have to take the responsibility of our youth.
“Besides, our own youth should be prepared to take up their responsibilities for a better future. Otherwise they will not realise how to earn a decent living,” Javid Hassan Baig said.
He said that our economic and social problems will not be solved unless all the sections of the society join hands and prepare our youth for a better future.
About the government plans to address the rising issue of unemployment, MLA Baramulla said the issue of unemployment and daily wagers can be addressed after Statehood gets restored.
“We hope that when Statehood gets restored, the issue of unemployment, and the issue of daily wages will be addressed,” he said.
