RTI activist booked under POCSO, other sections: Police

Rajouri, Jul 4: A man, claiming to be an RTI activist, has been booked by police under POCSO Act and other sections of law after some objectionable videos of the accused with a girl, reportedly a minor, went viral on social media platforms, said police.

The accused is a resident of Rajouri town and claims to be an RTI activist, police added.

As per reports, some videos have gone viral on social media in which accused can be seen with a minor girl, with the videos having caused social outrage. Based on the complaint lodged by family of the girl, a case under various sections of law including POCSO Act in FIR 346/25, has been registered in police station Rajouri, said a police officer, while wishing anonymity. Various social activists also met with police officers, calling for stern action in the matter and arrest of accused, who is reportedly absconding when last reports were received.
