RPF foils weapon-snatching bid at Jammu Railway Station
Jammu, July 25: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel foiled a weapon-snatching bid by a murder-accused, out on bail, at Jammu railway Station and registered a case on Thursday.
Police stated that the accused, identified as Devinder Singh, a resident of Kathua, at present residing in Nanak Nagar, Jammu, attempted to snatch the weapon of a RPF constable after verbal spat on Wednesday evening.
“He attacked RPF constable Mohan Lal with a sharp-edged weapon and attempted to take his weapon. RPF constable sustained injuries in the attack yet he foiled the bid to snatch his weapon. Accused was overpowered by RPF personnel before he could flee. Whole incident was caught on CCTV camera,” police said.
A case in this connection under relevant sections was registered at Railway Police Station against the murder accused Devinder, who was on bail on health grounds.
