Road in Langate area remains in shambles, locals suffer

Kupwara, Jan 1: The Umar Colony Haripora Langate road remains in shambles which is putting locals into a lot of inconvenience.

The residents are anguished with the concerned department for failing to repair the road for the last many years.

The residents said that the road was dotted with potholes at multiple spots, exposing the tall claims of authorities into improving connectivity. "For the last many years we have been demanding renovation and macadamisation of our road, but don't know why the concerned department has been watching our hardships as mute spectators," they added.

The residents said that even though they have apprised Block Development Council Chairman Langate about the hardships being faced by the locals due to dilapidated condition of the road, still nothing has been done so far in this regard.

The residents said that a huge chunk of the population has been suffering due to dilapidated conditions of this road.

"The pathetic condition of the road has become a severe issue for the people but authorities are doing nothing with regard to addressing the issue," Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, a local said.

Residents said that they have brought this issue into the notice of the concerned department numerous times but nothing concrete has materialised so far.
