Baramulla, Jan 1: A 12th class student has set up an NGO, 'Rise UP Youth Foundation', which was launched on Thursday in the Sheeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The inaugural ceremony of the ‘Rise UP Youth Foundation’ was attended by Block Development Officer (BDO) Narvaw, Naveed Iqbal and a youth leader from Baramulla, Touseef Raina.

They encouraged the founder for showing his interest in social service.

Iqbal complimented the founder of the NGO for taking up the initiative and said there were several social issues which needed immediate redressal.

“The interest shown by this young boy is praiseworthy. I hope he succeeds in his mission. Our youth are going through a tough time. Some are falling prey to the menace of drug addiction, while others are facing depression. Amid such a situation, a young boy who has taken a noble decision to address the social issues must be encouraged and supported by all,” he said.

Raina congratulated the founder of the NGO, Anush Khan, saying that he had a passion for social service since his early age.

“When I was President of the Municipal Committee Baramulla, he would often visit my office and seek guidance for setting up an NGO, as I had already established an NGO years ago. He was so passionate about registering his NGO and engaging in social service,” he said.

The founder of ‘Rise Up Youth Foundation,’ Anush Shahnaz Khan, said the foundation had been established with the vision to serve society, empower youth, and create awareness against drug abuse.

“‘Rise Up Youth Foundation’ is committed to bringing positive change in society and working dedicatedly towards addressing social issues,” he said.
