‘Restore glory of water bodies in Kashmir’

Srinagar, June 3: Chairman of Nigeen Lake Conservation Organisation Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo called on LG Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan here on Monday.

On the occasion, Wangnoo apprised LG about the importance of water bodies in Kashmir and the need to restore their glory.

He also extended an invitation to LG to participate in the World Environment Day function being organised by NLCO as chief guest.

During the meeting, they discussed the importance of environmental conservation, sustainable practices, and the urgent need for collective action to address pressing environmental issues.

The dialogue emphasised the crucial role that individuals, communities, and governments play in safeguarding the planet for future generations.

In a statement, Wangnoo thanked the LG for underscoring the need for efforts to protect the environment and foster a greener, more sustainable future.

“As we approach World Environment Day on June 5, let us heed the call to action and join hands in preserving the natural beauty of our planet. Together, through advocacy, awareness, and concrete initiatives, we can make a tangible difference in safeguarding our environment for generations to come,” Wangnoo said.
