Jammu, Oct 24: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Tariq Hameed Karra Thursday stated that the party’s top-most priorities comprised restoration of statehood with safeguards for land and jobs, steps to deal with large scale unemployment and restoration of Darbar move practice.

He asked the party leaders to hold regular interactions with the party workers at the grass root level and highlight the issues of people to bring the notice of party and the coalition government for prompt action.

He stated this while holding deliberations with the senior party leaders, during informal interactions about the current political situation and the organizational matters at PCC office, Jammu.

This was Karra’s maiden visit to Jammu after the declaration of J&K assembly elections.

Earlier, PCC Chief received a rousing reception on his arrival from Srinagar first time after winning the elections from Central Shalteng Assembly constituency in Srinagar city with a huge majority of over 14000 votes.

He was warmly welcomed, greeted and felicitated in the party headquarters by the senior party leaders over his convincing victory as MLA from Srinagar city.

Later informal interactions were held about the current political situation and the organizational matters.

Karra said that all important commitments and promises would be prioritized by the party for the government to work for their fulfilment in time bound manner.

“The party leaders and workers should give their inputs to the fact finding committee at the earliest possible to submit a report within a time frame in order to start the process for strengthening the party in the region and bring about organizational and other reforms for the purpose,” Karra stressed.

He also asked the fact finding committee to visit different districts and constituencies to interact with grass root party workers, to get their feedback.

Prominent leaders among those present included Raman Bhalla, Mula Ram, Ravinder Sharma, Ved Mahajan, Jahangir Mir, Thakur Balbir Singh, Vinod Sharma, Rajnish Sharma, S S Channi, Hari Singh Chib, Shah Mohd Choudhary, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Narinder Gupta, Dinanath Bhagat, Narinder Sharma, Namrata Sharma, Khushal Bali, Ashwani Puri, Neeraj Gupta and Kapil Singh besides others.

Later the fact finding committee of JKPCC, regarding the party’s debacle in assembly elections in Jammu region, held a meeting in the office and initiated the process for inviting feedback from all party leaders and functionaries, apart from candidates.
