Restoration of statehood crucial for empowering people: A M Sagar

Srinagar,  Feb 5: National Conference (NC)General Secretary and MLA Khanyar Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that the restoration of statehood  to J&K is crucial for empowering people.

According to a press release, he was interacting with several delegations which met him. The delegations brought forward pressing concerns, such as electricity shortages, water scarcity, and the rising unemployment among the youth.

Youth representatives expressed deep concern over the alarming unemployment rates in J&K, especially after the abrogation of Article 370. They emphasised that local youth with high qualifications are being overlooked, while outside bureaucrats are neglecting their grievances.

Sagar reassured the delegations that the Omar Abdullah-led government is dedicated to fulfill all promises outlined in the party manifesto. He expressed confidence in the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's statehood in the near future and stressed that ending bureaucratic rule is crucial for empowering the people.

The people have entrusted the National Conference with their mandate, and a democratically elected government will work tirelessly to address all issues gradually.

NC leader urged party members to prepare for the upcoming Urban Local Bodies and Panchayat elections, highlighting the significance of strengthening grassroots democracy.
