Restoration of Mughal Road still uncertain amid slippery conditions
Rajouri, Jan 9: Uncertainty prevails on restoration of Mughal Road amid slippery conditions .
The authorities did not allow movement of vehicles on Thursday also despite completion of snow clearance work two days ago.
The iconic road connecting Rajouri and Poonch districts with Kashmir valley is closed for last 12 days after fresh snowfall. The snow clearance work has been completed twice in this period but road could not be restored due to slippery surface.
The road, officials said, is still witnessing severe slippery conditions making surface accident prone.
Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Surankote, Farooq Khan Nazki, who looks after the road operational task of civil administration said that road could not be restored on Thursday also despite completion of snow clearance work on Monday evening.
He said that a slight improvement in road surface has been seen and there is some possibility that road could be restored by Friday but this purely depends on slippery conditions.
