Resolve Tangmarg's water crisis: Qayoom Wani
Srinagar, Jan 5: Chairman JKCSF Abdul Qayoom Wani has urged the authorities to resolve water crisis in Tangmarg.
In a statement he said the crisis continue in Ussun Bangil, Utiko Tangmarg, Barzallah, Goigam, and Gonipora villages. Despite repeated pleas, the administration has not addressed this urgent humanitarian issue, leading to worsening conditions for residents, Wani said.
“The core problem stems from the diversion of water from Nallah Ferozpora to non-native areas through large pipelines. This has not only caused a drinking water shortage but also severely affected local irrigation, horticulture, agriculture, and natural springs, posing a potential threat to the fish farming industry. The drying springs and declining water resources are taking a toll on the local economy, which heavily depends on these sectors,” he said.
