Srinagar, Nov 8: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary and In-charge for Jammu-Kashmir, and Ladakh, Tarun Chugh, today stated that the J&K Assembly’s resolution on Article 370 is blatantly illegal and unconstitutional, intended to incite separatist and violent elements within the Union Territory.

Chugh criticized Omar Abdullah and Congress's coalition government for reigniting anti-national controversies, saying that "its agenda seems focused on reviving terrorism and disrupting the development initiatives undertaken by the Modi government."

“This is nothing but a cheap political gimmick by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. It clearly shows that he has no agenda for the development of J&K and instead seeks to foster an atmosphere of terror and violence,” Chugh said.

Demanding the immediate withdrawal of the resolution, Chugh said that the BJP will not tolerate any anti-national or unconstitutional agendas being advanced in the Assembly by the Omar Abdullah government. “We will fight tooth and nail to defeat such nefarious designs of the Abdullah family,” he added.

Chugh also urged the J&K Assembly Speaker to refrain from supporting the Omar Abdullah government and to fulfill his responsibilities objectively, ensuring that all perspectives are considered fairly.

He further called upon Omar Abdullah to focus on fulfilling his poll promises rather than wasting taxpayers’ money and time on irrelevant resolutions.

“Rather than promoting divisive resolutions, Omar and his ally Congress should be explaining why terrorist activities have increased since he took the oath as Chief Minister. The first session of the J&K Assembly has been wasted on pushing a separatist, Pakistan-centric agenda, while essential discussions on development and the state's future have been completely neglected,” Chugh added.
