Residents of Qamrabad decry exposed electric wires

Srinagar, Dec 23: Residents of Qamrabad area of Qamarwari have expressed concern over exposed electric wires around a transformer, saying it poses a risk to commuters.

A delegation from the area said that the transformer and exposed electric wires pose a massive risk of electric shock to commuters.

“Despite our reminders, PDD authorities have not covered the wires. There is a risk of electric shock due to low lying transformer and exposed electric wires. This is sheer negligence on the part of PDD authorities to leave the electric wires open on the main road,” they said.

They appealed to Chief Engineer PDD to look into the matter and direct the concerned officials to ensure safety measures to prevent mishaps due to exposed wires in the locality.
