Kupwara, July 12: The residents of Sarmarg in Upper Rajwar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have expressed strong resentment against authorities for failing to macadamise their road thus making them suffer badly.

The residents said that the almost one kilometer road from the hospital to Sarmarg village was in pathetic condition. They said that the road was dotted with potholes at multiple spots due to which commuters were suffering badly. The residents said that the condition of the road was severely pathetic, but the concerned department was watching their miseries as mute spectators.

“We have brought this issue into the notice of the concerned department numerous times but every time we are being told that macadamisation of our road has been included in developmental plan but at the end of the year, a different tale emerges at the hands of concerned officials,” a local youth Javid Ahmad told Greater Kashmir.

“Previous year most of the roads in Upper Rajwar were macadamised, but don’t know why our road was left out. We are being deprived for political reasons,” he added.
