Residents of Bandipora area demand Principal for girls’ school

Bandipora, Nov 23: The residents of Plan Bandipora in north Kashmir district are demanding a new principal for Govt Girls Model Higher Secondary School, located in the heart of the town, after the retirement of its principal last month.
Citing various concerns, the community members from different circles appealed to LG Manoj Sinha and Commissioner Secretary to Government School Education Department

Alok Kumar to address the issue and demands on priority.

The residents said they are desperately waiting for a head for the school, with around 1,300 roll of girl students.
Besides the residents of the Plan vicinity, the Civil Society Bandipora and the Auqaf Committee have come together to voice their demand for the new principal.
President of Civil Society Bandipora Ghulam Nabi Mir said, “GHSS is one of the oldest higher secondary institutions of the area and it would be injustice if this school remains headless.”

He added that the way good governance is delivered in UT, they are sure that their demand will be fulfilled on priority for the betterment of the students.
President of Auqaf Committee and Head Cleric of the district Khurshid Anwar also shared his concerns about the school and requested the authorities to transfer a local Principal without waiting for ATD.

He appealed and urged the authorities to take serious cognisance of the request of the people so that the school with an excellent record may touch new academic heights.

SMDC members of the school said that GHSS Bandipora is located in the heart of the town with a huge girls’ enrollment and the institution cannot afford to remain headless for long.

They said, “We are sure that the authorities will take serious note of our demand and will transfer a new principal for the benefit of the students.”
