The once serene stream has transformed into a repository of filth and garbage, emitting a pungent smell that spreads through the locality.

Expressing their concern over the state of the Nallah, the locals said that the lack of initiative by authorities to clean the stream not only mars the aesthetics of the area but has far-reaching consequences as its waters eventually merge with the river Jehlum, becoming a primary source of pollution for the larger water body.

Bashir Ahmad, a local resident while talking about the worsening condition of the stream, expressed frustration at the inaction of responsible authorities. "The concerned authorities don't bother to clean it and remove garbage from the stream, resulting in an ugly and unsightly portrayal of the area," he said.

The extent of pollution is exacerbated by the presence of various types of waste, including polythene, which is spread all along the entire length of the Nallah. The once-visible stream remains buried under layers of garbage.

Notably, the contaminated stream serves as a conduit to the well-known Gulnar Park, located in the area which is frequented by both locals and schoolchildren from the surrounding area. The pollution not only poses an environmental hazard but also threatens the health and well-being of those who come into contact with its waters.
