The residents stated that NTPHC Nagri serves a large population across dozens of villages, making it essential to ensure health services are available at all times.

“When a medical emergency arises in or around our village, we are forced to take patients to the Sub District Hospital Kupwara or the Associated District Hospital GMC Handwara, which can be detrimental,” a local resident said.

“We cannot understand why the authorities are reluctant to operate this health centre 24/7 when residential quarters for doctors have already been built. We don't know when our sufferings will end,” added another local.

The residents are also distressed by the lack of diagnostic facilities. They mentioned that for even minor tests, they have to travel to Kupwara or Handwara.

“The hospital still lacks an X-ray facility, even though it was upgraded decades ago. This reflects the callous attitude of the authorities towards this health institution,” they stated.

The residents have called for the immediate intervention of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to address these issues and alleviate the suffering of the public.
