Sopore, Nov 02: A residential house was completely gutted in a mysterious fire incident that broke out on Sunday afternoon in the New Colony area of Sopore, triggering panic among the local residents.

Reports said that the fire suddenly engulfed from top storey of the residential house of Abdul Gafoor Gojree, reducing it to ashes before fire tenders and police teams could reach the spot. Flames and smoke were seen billowing from the structure, causing alarm in the densely populated locality.

Soon after receiving the information, fire tenders from Sopore Fire and Emergency Services, assisted by local police and residents, swung into action and launched an extensive operation to douse the flames. Their timely and coordinated efforts prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses, thereby averting a possible large-scale tragedy.

Although the cause of the fire was not immediately known, officials said an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the exact reason behind the mysterious blaze. Fortunately, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
