Residential house damaged in fire incident in Kangan

Kangan,  Jan 11: A residential house was completely gutted in a fire incident in Gund area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday evening.  Locals said that fire broke out in the house of Mehraj Din Sheikh at Sheikh Mohalla Gund on Wednesday evening and engulfed the whole structure.

Fire tenders along with locals, police and army, soon after the incident, reached the spot and tried to douse the flames. However it had caused massive damage to the property. The fire was later controlled by fire tenders from spreading further.

In the fire incident property worth lakhs including, utensils, clothes and other household goods was damaged.  Locals have urged the administration to provide immediate relief and rehabilitation for the fire affected families.
