Rescue ops launched to trace abducted soldier in Kashmir's Kokernag

Srinagar, Oct 09: Army and police have launched a massive search operation to trace the abducted solder in south Kashmir's Kokernag area, officials said Wednesday.

Yesterday late evening an Indian Territorial Army soldier was abducted by the militants, following which a search operation was launched in the area.

The army's official spokesperson today said that the massive search and rescue operation is in progress.

"Based on intelligence input, a joint counter terrorist operation was launched by Indian Army along with police & other agencies in Kazwan Forest, Kokernag on 08 Oct 24. Operation continued overnight as one soldier of Territorial Army was reported missing. Massive rescue and search operation is in progress," army's Chinar Corps wrote on their official X-handle.
