Renowned Kashmiri artist passes away
Srinagar, Dec 26: A prominent artist of Kashmir, Ghulam Muhammad Ladori Rafiabad, passed away.
Numerous literary organisations, cultural institutions, and individuals have expressed sorrow over Dar's demise.
The condolence meeting held by Bulbul Academy of Performing Arts (BAPA), chaired by Ghulam Nabi Bulbul, highlighted the significant loss for Kashmiri folk music due to the demise of Dar.
It's worth remembering that Ghulam Muhammad Dar, along with the late Abdul Raheem Butt, Hamam Nabi Bulbul, and Ghulam Rasool Ahangar, used to perform together on stage.
The head of Bulbul Academy of Performing Arts, Dr. Rafiq Masoodi paid tributes stating that the late Dar had exceptional skill in playing the note (matka) and had collaborated with eminent maestros such as Pandit Bhajan Sopori, late Mohammad Ashraf, late Veerinder Mohan, and the late Ghulam Nabi Sheikh.
Late Ghulam Ahmed Dar, the famous creator of the record-breaking ghazal "Hakima Vara Wuchtem Dudh Ne Dag Kamch Chum," was the brother of the renowned Ghulam Ahmed Dar, also known as Amma Dar Ladori.
The convener, Ghulam Nabi Bulbul, led the Fateha Khwani for the deceased, and prayers were recited.
