Banihal, Sep 14: With more than 500 apple-laden trucks stranded for two days on the Srinagar–Jammu National Highway in Ramban district, Srinagar-based Athrout Kashmir and Banihal Volunteers on Sunday distributed food and essentials to the drivers.

On Sunday afternoon, a team from Athrout Kashmir, a Srinagar-based social organisation, reached Banihal and, in collaboration with the local volunteer group Banihal Volunteers, distributed rations and essential supplies among stranded truck drivers stuck in the Sherbibi–Banihal highway sector.
Meanwhile, due to the poor condition of the highway in Udhampur, hundreds of goods-laden trucks have remained stranded across Udhampur, Ramban, and Qazigund in Kulgam district for about three weeks now.
