Reliance Jio added 40,000 mobile subscribers in J&K service area in September: TRAI

Srinagar, Nov 6: Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (Jio) further consolidates its position with the addition of 40,000 mobile subscribers in the J&K service area, including Ladakh, in the month of September 2025, as per the latest telecom subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), said a press release. Reliance Jio is the only operator to add mobile subscribers in the service area in the month of September, it said.

Jio achieved a subscriber base of more than 52 lakhs in the Wireless (Mobile) segment as on September 30, 2025, cementing Jio’s position as a preferred telecom brand in J&K. The total Wireless (Mobile) subscriber number in J&K is approximately 1.27 crore as on September 30, 2025, it said.

A key factor contributing to Jio’s rapid growth in the service area is its robust and largest 4G and True 5G network, covering 91 per cent of the population. Most of its sites are on fibre, which leads to nearly unlimited data carrying capacity, which is multi-fold higher than its competitors, said the press release. It is worth mentioning here that Reliance Jio dominated the net addition in wireless (mobile) by adding 1.59 lakh and 57 thousand subscribers in July and August 2025, respectively.
