Reliance Foundation launches Vantara
Jamnagar, Feb 26: Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and Reliance Foundation have jointly announced 'Vantara' - a comprehensive animal rescue, rehabilitation and conservation programme spread over 3,000 acres in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
A statement said that Conceptualised by Anant Ambani, Director on RIL and Reliance Foundation boards, Vantara aims to emerge as a leading contributor to global wildlife conservation efforts. Its facilities include state-of-the-art veterinary hospitals, quarantine spaces, intensive care units and habitats that mimic the natural environment of rescued animals.
"Vantara marks Reliance's entry into wildlife conservation and animal welfare. Our goal is to develop world class facilities for displaced, neglected and abused animals from across India," said Ambani while unveiling the Vantara programme.
Reliance Foundation will collaborate with veterinary doctors, conservationists and acclaimed international institutions like IUCN and WWF to deploy global best practices in animal care at Vantara. The programme will also sponsor scientific research into wildlife conservation in partnership with expert organizations globally.
