Rehbar-e-Janglat employees appeal for regularisation

Srinagar, Aug 22: The All Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Janglat Employees Association (AJKRJEA) has expressed serious concern over the government’s delay in regularising their services, saying the process was due in August 2022.

In a statement, the Association said that despite serving in the Forest Department with technical qualifications such as B.Sc, M.Sc, Ph.D in Forestry and DDR, employees continue to work without job security.

“We completed our extended two-year probation on August 4, 2022, yet no decision has been taken on regularisation. Our families are under stress and uncertainty,” the statement read.

The AJKRJEA pointed out that the Rehbar-e-Janglat policy was framed under Cabinet Decision No. 96/6/2017 and Government Order No. 155 FST of 2017. However, they alleged that despite repeated assurances, the government has maintained “a dumb and deaf approach” for three years.

The Association appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to personally intervene and ensure justice without further delay. It warned that if their demand continues to be ignored, the employees, along with their families, will be compelled to stage peaceful protests, holding the administration responsible for any fallout.
