In a fresh notification, the Director Academics BOSE extended the schedule for submission of online examination forms for classes 10, 11 and 12h Annual (Regular) examination 2024 and Renewal Registration Returns of Classes 11th and 12th for the left out students and those who were provisionally admitted in next higher class and have now qualified all five compulsory subjects in the bi-annual and annual private 2023 examination.

As per the notification issued, the dates for submission of online forms for class 10th have been extended up to January 10, 2024.

Also, the link for submission of online examination forms for class 11th and 12th students will be available from January 11 to 15, 2024.

An official said that the date for submission of class 10th students has been extended to accommodate all the students for class 10th examination.

“The last date for classes 11th and 12th has been extended to accommodate those students who have qualified the bi-annual private class 10th and class 11th examination,” the official said.

Also, the date for submission of Renewal Registration Returns by the on-roll eligible students of classes 11h and 12th for the academic session 2023-24 has been extended till January 10, 2024.

The Director Academics BOSE has further stated that the other eligible candidates who could not submit their online examination forms and Renewal Registration Returns of classes 11h and 12th so far could also submit their forms as per the mentioned schedule.

"All the concerned schools should ensure that only those re-appear or failed students of Annual Regular 2023 examination who were provisionally admitted as per the norms and have now qualified all five compulsory subjects shall submit their online forms," the notification reads. “Any deviation from the guidelines shall warrant strict disciplinary action from the competent authority.”

The date for submission of examination forms has been extended due to the prevailing issue of private schools with land issues which came to light after the J&K government on April 15, 2022, amended the rules under the Education Act 2002 to provide for fresh guidelines relating to the use of land and building structures by private schools in J&K.

The BOSE tagged "on-roll" students of 60 private academic institutions of Kashmir operating on proprietary land with "expired affiliations".

It said that these schools failed to furnish their extension case file which prompted the BOSE to tag the students of these institutions with the nearby government schools.

Also, the School Education Department (SED) has granted an extension to the recognition of 154 private schools of Kashmir division for a specific against each school, with and without deficiencies.
