Srinagar, Sep 12: Royal Goodwill Cricket Club defeated Spectrum Kings by 29 runs in the Red Premier League at Bakshi Stadium on Friday, with Yash Garg taking six wickets to seal the win after Nasir Bashir Kumar’s batting heroics set up a total of 198.
As per a statement issued, the Spectrum Kings won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Royal Goodwill CC batters showcased grit, with Nasir Bashir Kumar leading the charge. His fluent stroke play and composure under pressure earned him the Best Batter award. Supported by useful contributions down the order, Royal Goodwill CC managed to post a competitive total of 198 of 20 overs on the board.
Chasing can be tricky, and the Spectrum Kings found that out the hard way. Their innings was a tale of sparks and stumbles with Faizan Mir (47 off 37) and Umair Zahoor (46 off 28), who tried to script a comeback, stitching together valuable runs.
Mohammed Mudasir’s explosive 22 off just 7 balls gave a glimmer of hope.
But every time the Kings looked settled, one man changed the script, Yash Garg. His magical spell of 4 overs, 27 runs, and 6 wickets dismantled the opposition and left the crowd in awe.
Spectrum Kings were bundled out for 169 in 18.3 overs, falling short despite flashes of brilliance.
