Srinagar, Oct 1: The Red Premier League (RPL) Season 2 is billed as the most-watched sporting event in Jammu and Kashmir, drawing millions of viewers across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, according to the organisers.

Organisers said that since the start of Season 2 last month, all matches have been widely watched by millions on various social media platforms, not just in Jammu and Kashmir or elsewhere in India, but also in other parts of the world.

As per a statement issued, Royal Goodwill Cricket Club clinched the title on Tuesday with a commanding 45-run victory over Athwas India XI in an electrifying contest at Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.

Adil Reshi was the standout performer of the final, smashing an unbeaten 106 off 58 balls with 8 fours and 8 sixes to guide his side to a formidable 221/4. He was named Man of the Match for his innings.

Nasir Bashir Kumar, who scored a vital 66 in the final, was awarded Best Batsman of the tournament.

Bowling brilliance came from Yash Garg, who was crowned Best Bowler of the tournament. His valuable wickets and economy helped restrict the opposition’s batting lineup.

Yash Garg also received the Player of the Series award for his outstanding all-round contributions throughout the season.

The statement added that the match highlighted a perfect blend of power hitting, tactical bowling, and resolute fielding from Royal Goodwill Cricket Club, establishing their dominance as deserving champions of RPL Season 2.

Royal Goodwill Cricket Club’s commanding victory and the individual accolades recognise the remarkable talent and dedication that made this season truly unforgettable.

The statement added, “Royal Goodwill Cricket Club’s emphatic win capped a season filled with high-quality cricket and memorable moments that organisers say has “redefined how sport is consumed in J&K.”

The organisers also expressed gratitude to Secretary of the Sports Council Nuzhat Gull, Brigadier Anil Gupta of JKCA, Irfan Ahmad Guju of the Athwas Group for his support in promoting sports, J&K Police, CRPF, SDRF, the Health Department, Sports Council staff, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Fire and Emergency Services, and the Power Development Department.
