Recently qualified JKAS, police services, account services officers interact with Sonamarg Development Authority CEO
Sonamarg, Jun 20: In a significant initiative aimed at familiarising newly inducted civil service officers with practical aspects of administration, the 2025 batch of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), Kashmir Police Service (KPS) and Accounts Services officers visited the scenic town of Sonamarg on Friday for a hands-on exposure session.
As per a press release, the field visit interaction was held at the International Youth Hostel in Sonamarg, featuring an interactive session with Bilal Mukhtar, Chief Executive Officer of the Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA).
The CEO made a detailed presentation on the administrative functioning, developmental initiatives, and tourism management strategies employed by the SDA in the region. During the interaction, the newly appointed JKAS officers posed a range of questions related to policy implementation, local governance challenges, tourism sustainability, and infrastructure development. CEO Bilal Mukhtar addressed each query with insight and patience, sharing his ground-level experiences and offering valuable perspectives on efficient administration in high-altitude tourist zones like Sonamarg. The session proved to be highly informative and engaging for the officers, offering them a deeper understanding of real-time governance and administrative coordination. The visit is part of a broader training module designed to equip the new officers with practical knowledge and field experience as they prepare to take on various administrative roles across the Union Territory. It is pertinent to mention here the Joint Foundation Course is being conducted by JK IMPARD, MA Road, Srinagar under the coordinatorship of Dr Jahan Ara and Dr Bilal Bhat.
