Rajouri, March 22: The Jammu and Kashmir police in Reasi district have apprehended four individuals allegedly involved in an attempted murder case. Alongside the arrests, crucial pieces of evidence have been recovered, shedding light on the heinous crime.

A police official said that police station Katra received an information on March 17th from reliable sources that some goons stabbed one Deepak Kumar @ Deepu son of Bodh Raj resident of Aghar Jitto, Katra with a sharp-edged weapon at Aghar Jitto Katra, leaving him seriously injured.

Subsequently, police said, case FIR No 82/2024 U/Ss 307/341/34 IPC and 4/25 Arms Act was registered at police station Katra and police swung into action and shifted the injured person to CHC Katra for treatment.

Sensing the gravity of the incident, police further said, SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma
constituted a special team to trace the accused.

"Special team laid nakas in and around the Katra town to arrest accused persons and after meticulous track-following, with the help of technical team and consistent hectic efforts, team of Police Station Katra zeroed upon the location of the accused," said the official.

All the four accused persons namely Sunil Sharma @ Sunilu son of Parshotam Sharma, Himanshu Sharma @ Rajju son of Ramesh Sharma, Rohit Kumar @ Rotu son of Parshotam Sharma and Mukesh Kumar @ Mukeshu son of Kushal Chand, all resident of village Aghar Jitto, Katra Reasi, were arrested.

Police further said to have recovered sharp edged weapons on their disclosures that include one Dharat, one Toka 01 and one cricket bat.
