Rear Admiral V Ganapathy takes over as Commandant of MILIT, Pune
New Delhi, Jun 30: Rear Admiral V Ganapathy has assumed charge as the Commandant of the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT), Pune, India’s premier Tri-Services technical training institution operating under the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff.
An accomplished officer of the Indian Navy, Rear Admiral Ganapathy brings with him a distinguished career marked by key operational, staff, and instructional roles.
A graduate of the College of Defence Management, the National Defence College, and the Defence Services Staff College, he is known for combining operational acumen with forward-looking institutional leadership.
His appointment comes at a crucial juncture as the Indian Armed Forces accelerate their transition towards greater technological sophistication and integrated joint operations. In his new role, Rear Admiral Ganapathy will lead MILIT’s mandate of training mid-career officers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and friendly foreign nations in advanced military technologies. His leadership is expected to further bolster MILIT’s standing as a centre of excellence, with a sharpened focus on emerging domains that are redefining the contours of modern warfare.
