Jammu, Jan 15: Ladakh’s biggest sporting event—the Laksh season 6 football tournament, held outside the region, concluded with a nail-biting finale with Realona FC Kargil defeating Indus Chuchot 2-1 to claim the title at Mini Stadium, Jammu.

As per the release issued, organized by Laksh Society Ladakh under the theme "Yes to Sports, No to Drugs," the event attracted thousands of enthusiastic Ladakhi spectators, showcasing the region's vibrant footballing culture and commitment.

The tournament, as per the release, honoured individual and team excellence, with Norbu (RLC) named Best Goalkeeper, Mussa (RLC) Best Defender, and Arif Hussain the Top Scorer.

Arif Hussain of Indus Chuchot was awarded Best Striker, while his teammate Asgar Ali was recognized as Best Midfielder. FC Baroo emerged as the tournament’s most promising team, with Zubair from MEWSL Academy named Emerging Player.

The grand finale was attended by SSP North Jammu Vivek Shekhar Sharma as the Chief Guest, alongside Prof. Shujaat Khan as the Guest of Honor and Special Guest Showkat Ali Lonpo.

Other notable attendees included Sudhir Anand, founder of Dhruv Institute Jammu, Laksh Society Director Sajeed Jafarry, MD Rehnuma Infratech Nasir Rehnuma, and MD MB Mirza Ali.

This iconic tournament not only highlighted Ladakh’s footballing talent but also reinforced the role of sports in promoting unity and combating social challenges.
