RBI ombudsman holds meeting in Rajouri to enhance consumer protection
Rajouri, Feb 4: The RBI Ombudsman's Office held a townhall meeting to strengthen consumer protection and grievance redressal under the Reserve Bank-Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2021.
RBI Ombudsman Ramesh Chand highlighted the scheme's customer-centric features, explaining mechanisms for resolving complaints against banks, NBFCs, and payment service operators. He warned participants about digital fraud risks and guided them on safe banking practices.
Over 150 participants, including bank officials, self-help group members, and customers, engaged in an interactive session. Representatives from State Bank of India and J&K Bank discussed internal grievance redressal mechanisms.
The meeting concluded with a quiz, emphasizing RBI's commitment to consumer education and protection.
