Rawalpora residents demand Aadhar Centre
Srinagar, Dec 21: The residents of Rawalpora area here on Thursday complained about the non-availabilty of an Aadhar Centre in the locality
The locals said that the non-availabilty of the Aadhar facilities in uptown Srinagar causes immense hardships to a huge chunk of resident population.
They said an Aadhar Centre existed at Rawalpora and alleged the same was closed many months back for unknown reasons.
"We had a proper Aadhar Centre functional at Rawalpora which was housed in a Government school and it used to cater to the majority of uptown population. But unfortunately it has been closed down for unknown reasons" Muhammad Ashraf a local resident rued adding that the entire population of the catchment areas suffer for Aadhar updation facilities.
Another resident Imtiyaz Ahmed Noorani of Hakeem Bagh Rawalpora complained that the people here have been left with no option but to visit distant Aadhar centres like at Baghat Kanipora or at Chanapora.
"We request the authorities to take cognisance of our grievance and immediately re-establish an Aadhar Centre at Rawalpora for public convenience"
Meanwhile the residents also approached Arshad Dijoo, a social activist with a written grievance to take up the matter with the government on their behalf.
