Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of Tata Sons is no more
Hyderabad, Oct 09: Ratan Tata, former chairman of Tata Sons, has died at the age of 85 According to reports, Tata was in critical health condition and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital.
When reports of Tata’s hospital visit surfaced, he dismissed rumours on X stating, “I am currently undergoing medical check-ups due to my age related medical conditions.
There is no cause for concern. I remain in good spirits.”
He also urged the public and media to refrain from "spreading misinformation". Ratan Tata said, "I am aware of recent rumours circulating regarding my health and I want to assure everyone that these claims are unfounded."
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed sadness over the demise of prominent business icon of India.
Taking to micro-blogging site X (formerly twitter), Singh said: "Saddened by the passing away of Shri Ratan Tata. He was a Titan of the Indian industry known for his monumental contributions to our economy, trade and industry. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace".

PDP president and former chief minister J&K Mehbooba Mufti also expressed grief over the demise of Ratan Tata, and expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and the TATA group.
"How awful to hear about the passing of Mr Ratan Tata - a true visionary who shaped much of India’s growth trajectory. My deepest condolences to his family & the TATA group," Mehbooba in a post on X said.
