Srinagar, Oct 4: The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) on Saturday announced its squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season 2025–26, with Paras Dogra named as captain.

According to JKCA officials, all selected probables have been asked to join the senior team camp starting October 7. The preparatory camp will be held in Srinagar at SK Stadium, where the players will train under the supervision of head coach Ajay Sharma and other members of the support staff.

The Ranji Trophy campaign for J&K will begin on October 15 with a tough opening fixture against domestic giants Mumbai at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Sonwar, in Srinagar. This will be J&K’s first home game of the season, making it a high-stakes clash in front of the home crowd.

The 20-member squad includes prominent names like Abdul Samad, Shubham Khajuria, Qamran Iqbal, and Abid Mushtaq. Youngsters like Mujtaba Yousuf, Lone Nasir Muzaffar, and Yawar Hassan have also found a place in the side.

The full support staff accompanying the team includes bowling coach P Krishna Kumar, fielding coach Dishant Yagnik, manager Hilal Ahmad, and physiotherapist Chirag Pandya, among others.

JKCA officials told Greater Kashmir that the camp will focus on fine-tuning the skills of both batters and bowlers to prepare them for the challenging season ahead. “w,” a senior JKCA official said.

The squad is expected to assemble in Srinagar over the next two days before beginning intensive training sessions from October 7.

Notably, the four-day clash is expected to draw huge interest as domestic heavyweights Mumbai are with a power-packed squad that includes senior India batter Ajinkya Rahane, rising star Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan, and current India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav.

Top JKCA officials told Greater Kashmir that preparations were in full swing to host the season’s Ranji opener in Srinagar, with the ground and facilities being fine-tuned to ensure smooth conduct of the high-profile match.
