Ramban road accident | Farooq, Azad, Omar, Mehbooba, Altaf Bukhari, Sajad Lone, Tarigami, Hakeem Yaseen grieved over loss of lives
Srinagar, Mar 29: Senior politicians Dr Farooq Abdullah, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mehbooba Mufti, Syed Mohammad Alraf Bukhari, Sajad Gani Lone, M Y Tarigami, and Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen have expressed grief over the loss of lives in Ramban road accident.
DR FAROOQ ABDULLAH
While expressing his grief, National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah impressed upon the administration to reach out to the affected families with adequate relief and compensation. He said, "Jammu-Srinagar highway stretch in Ramban has become a death trap. In the last few years, hundreds of people have lost their lives, leaving their families shattered. The concerned authorities must look into both the causes and take serious measures to prevent occurrence of the accidents. Meantime district administration Ramban should reach out to the affected with adequate relief and compensation."

Chairman of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad posted on X, “Deeply saddened by the loss of 10 lives in a tragic road accident as a passenger taxi rolled down a deep gorge near Battery Cheshma in Ramban distt. The commendable rescue efforts by local NGOs from Ramban, Banihal, and Ramsoo, along with SDRF and police, are appreciated. My heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this tragedy.”

We eagerly await the day when the promised four lane highway is completed and people are able to undertake this journey with the assurance of greater safety. Apni Party President posted on X, “Devastated by the tragic accident near Battery Chashma on national highway, where 10 people are feared dead. My deepest condolences to the families of the deceased. Grateful for the relentless efforts of district administration Ramban and local youth who carried out this difficult rescue operation in deep gorge. Appreciating local heroes like Banihal volunteers, civil QRT volunteers Ramban, and civil QRT volunteers Ramsoo, and other volunteers always available for rescue operations on the national highway. Sending prayers for strength and healing to all affected families.”

CPI (M) leader M Y Tarigami posted, “Heartbroken by the tragic accident on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which claimed the lives of ten migrant labourers. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Urging the government to provide adequate compensation to the next of kin of the victims”.

Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has expressed shock over the tragic accident near Ramban.
In a statement he extended his heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families. Hakeem sought adequate compensation to the bereaved families.
